# OXVA pods, which cartridge fits which device

> Which OXVA pods fit which device? XLIM, NeXLIM and VPrime compatibility, choosing a coil resistance and the 2 ml pod limit in the UK.

Buying **OXVA pods** for the wrong device is an easy mistake, and the range almost invites it. OXVA sells three families of cartridges, XLIM, NeXLIM and VPrime, each spread across several generations, capacities and coil resistances.

The names look alike and so do the devices. Before ordering replacements, it pays to know which family your device belongs to, and what the manufacturer actually says about compatibility rather than what a product listing implies.

## OXVA pods in brief, one family per device

OXVA pods only work with devices from their own family. XLIM cartridges go on XLIM devices, NeXLIM cartridges on NeXLIM devices, and VPrime cartridges on both VPrime generations. Within each family, OXVA presents its cartridges as compatible from one generation to the next.

Two exceptions are worth knowing before you order. According to the manufacturer's FAQ, the 0.4 ohm XLIM cartridge only works from the XLIM Pro onwards. The first NeXLIM can take XLIM cartridges, but only with an adaptor that the NeXLIM 2 and NeXLIM 2 Mini product pages never mention.

One rule covers all three families in Britain. A refillable pod sold legally here holds no more than 2 ml, whatever capacity the international product page quotes.

## The OXVA pods compatibility table

This table brings together the lists OXVA publishes on its own product pages. An older model missing from a list is not necessarily incompatible, but nothing confirms that it works.

| Family | Cartridges listed | Resistances | Devices listed as compatible | Capacity in the UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XLIM | Top Fill, Top Fill Unitech 3.0, EZ, empty cartridge, replacement coils | 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm | XLIM 4, XLIM Pro 3, XLIM 3 Ultra, XLIM Go 2, XLIM Go Lite, XLIM SQ Pro 2, XLIM Pro 2, XLIM Go | 2 ml (TPD version) |
| NeXLIM | NeXLIM, NeXLIM Unitech 3.0, empty cartridge, replacement coils | 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm | NeXLIM, NeXLIM Go, NeXLIM 2, NeXLIM 2 Mini | 2 ml (TPD version) |
| VPrime | VPrime, VPrime Dual Mesh, empty cartridge, replacement coils | 0.2 to 0.8 ohm (VPrime), 0.4 and 0.6 ohm (Dual Mesh) | VPrime, VPrime 2 | 2 ml (TPD version) |

No OXVA page presents a cartridge from one family as compatible with a device from another, apart from the first NeXLIM adaptor. A pod that clips in mechanically is not necessarily a pod the board reads correctly, a point we also made in our [Voopoo Argus G3 review](/uk/voopoo-argus-g3-review/).

## The three cartridge families in detail

Each family matches a way of vaping, from a tight draw to direct lung. The differences come down to the number of heating meshes and the range of resistances on offer.

### XLIM, the widest family

The XLIM cartridge is top filled and comes in resistances from 0.4 to 1.2 ohm. Its latest version, Unitech 3.0, ships at 0.8 ohm with the XLIM 4 and appears in the same compatibility list as the older Top Fill cartridge. The international page quotes 3 ml; the version sold in Britain holds 2 ml.

The catch sits at the lowest resistance. OXVA's FAQ states that the 0.4 ohm XLIM cartridge is only compatible from the XLIM Pro onwards. The XLIM Pod, XLIM SE, XLIM SQ and XLIM Crystal, which are listed for the other XLIM cartridges, do not accept it.

### NeXLIM, the dual mesh family

The NeXLIM cartridge uses two heating meshes, in 0.6, 0.8 or 1.2 ohm, with 4 ml on the international version and 2 ml on the TPD version. On the series devices, Boost mode heats both meshes together and Eco mode alternates between them, which the manufacturer says spares the cartridge.

OXVA also lists an empty NeXLIM cartridge and replacement coils. The first NeXLIM page adds the adaptor that accepts XLIM cartridges from 0.4 to 1.2 ohm.

### VPrime, the direct lung family

The original VPrime cartridge covers 0.2 to 0.8 ohm, the Dual Mesh 0.4 and 0.6 ohm. In Boost mode on the VPrime 2, the dual mesh brings the effective resistance down to about 0.2 ohm for the 0.4 and 0.3 ohm for the 0.6, according to the manufacturer's specification.

The international capacities, 5 ml for the VPrime cartridge and 6 ml for the Dual Mesh, drop to 2 ml on the TPD versions. OXVA states full cross compatibility between generations, with the original cartridge fitting the VPrime 2 and the Dual Mesh fitting the first VPrime.

## Which resistance for your OXVA pods

The ohm value decides both the draw and the type of e-liquid. For XLIM cartridges, OXVA recommends nicotine salts at 0.8 and 1.2 ohm, and a pod friendly freebase e-liquid at 0.4 and 0.6 ohm.

The higher the resistance, the tighter the draw and the lower the power. OXVA's suggested ranges for the NeXLIM cartridge run from 10 to 13 watts for the 1.2 ohm in Eco mode up to 36 to 40 watts for the 0.6 ohm in Boost mode.

In the UK, nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20 mg/ml and sold in bottles of 10 ml at most, whichever cartridge you use. Our guide to [choosing an e-liquid](/uk/choosing-an-e-liquid-pg-vg-nicotine/) covers the choice between salts and freebase in more detail.

## Why OXVA pods hold 2 ml in the UK

The 3, 4, 5 and 6 ml figures on OXVA's international pages do not describe the cartridges on British shelves. UK rules cap refillable tanks and pods at 2 ml, and OXVA publishes a 2 ml TPD version for every family.

The manufacturer says as much on its own pages, noting that pod capacity varies by region to comply with local regulations. The TPD kits of the XLIM 4, NeXLIM Go and VPrime 2 accordingly ship with 2 ml cartridges. Any comparison of refill intervals built on an overseas listing therefore says nothing about a device bought in Britain.

## Filling OXVA pods without leaks

OXVA's FAQ sets out a precise filling procedure. Pour the liquid without touching the internal structure or squeezing the bottle repeatedly, then close the silicone plug straight away, since the manufacturer flags a leak risk once a pod stays open for more than 30 seconds.

Priming time depends on the generation. The general FAQ advises waiting 3 minutes after filling, while OXVA quotes 30 seconds for Unitech 3.0 cartridges, whose wicking has been redesigned. The wait is meant to avoid the burnt taste of cotton that is still dry.

The manufacturer also recommends a 50/50 PG/VG ratio, the power settings given in the manual and a clean, dry contact between pod and device. It notes that a cartridge filled and then left unused for more than three days is more likely to leak.

## Which family suits which vaper

A vaper after a tight mouth to lung draw with nicotine salts will find the right values in the XLIM family, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. Someone who wants to move between a tight and an airier draw on the same cartridge should look at NeXLIM and its two modes.

The VPrime family, with low resistances and up to 60 watts on the VPrime 2, suits a vaper already used to direct lung vaping.

For a first device, the brand matters less than the format, which our [guide for adult beginners](/uk/vaping-for-beginners-uk-guide/) works through step by step. If the hesitation is about moving to more powerful hardware, our comparison of [pods and box mods](/uk/pod-vs-box-mod/) sets out the criteria.

## FAQ

These questions cover the practical situations that come up most often once the compatibility table has settled which family you own.

### How long should an OXVA pod last?

OXVA quotes its own lab figures, up to 120 ml of liquid in Eco mode and 80 ml in Boost mode for a NeXLIM cartridge tested in its 4 ml version, and 80 per cent of flavour retained after ten refills for the XLIM Unitech 3.0. Actual lifespan depends on power and liquid. Fading flavour or a burnt taste is the signal to replace the pod.

### Is 0.8 or 0.6 ohm better on an OXVA pod?

Neither is better in absolute terms, because they suit different draws. On a NeXLIM cartridge in Eco mode, OXVA rates the 0.8 ohm for mouth to lung at 14 to 18 watts, while the 0.6 ohm covers both mouth to lung and restricted lung at 20 to 25 watts. Choose the 0.8 if a tight draw matters most, the 0.6 if you want a slightly more open one.

### What does "no atomizer" mean on an OXVA device?

According to OXVA, the gold contact pins on the device and the cartridge pick up dirt easily. Clean them with a clean cloth or a little alcohol and try again. If the message persists, test another cartridge to find out whether the fault lies with the pod or the device.

### Can I use another brand's pod on an OXVA device?

OXVA only lists its own cartridges, and its warranty terms exclude faults caused by accessories from other brands. Even if a third party pod clips in, the risk therefore covers both how the device behaves and what recourse you have if something goes wrong.

### How do I check an OXVA pod is genuine?

OXVA products come with a scratch off authentication label that reveals a 14 character security code, which you enter on the verification page of the manufacturer's site. A code that has already been checked many times is flagged as suspect, and OXVA then asks buyers to check where the product was bought.

## Choosing OXVA pods, family first

A good purchase starts with the family of the device, shown on its box. XLIM, NeXLIM and VPrime each have their own cartridges, compatible across generations according to OXVA, with two exceptions to keep in mind, the 0.4 ohm pod refused by early XLIM models and the adaptor announced for the first NeXLIM.

The resistance comes next, chosen for the draw and the e-liquid, and the capacity is the one given by the British retailer. Checking the product page before ordering OXVA pods remains the simplest way to avoid a wasted purchase, and it is the same approach we take with all the vaping hardware covered on Puff Insider.
